- Location: Via WebEx: see details below
The City of Bend is beginning its allocation process for resources that benefit low-income residents. Available resources include the Affordable Housing Fund and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
Before Requests for Proposals are released to apply for these funds, the City of Bend will host informational meetings that describe each available resource and answer questions regarding system development charge exemptions, expedited permitting and other affordable housing development incentives. The informational meetings will take place virtually on Monday, September 21, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. or on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. The virtual meeting information is detailed below. The same information will be covered at each meeting, and a potential applicant should only attend one meeting.
Non-profit organizations intending to apply for CDBG funds must attend one of the scheduled informational meetings. Details regarding CDBG project requirements, timeliness requirements, and outcome reporting requirements will be reviewed in the last hour of the presentation. If a non-profit organization that intends to apply cannot participate in the scheduled informational meeting, please contact Racheal Baker, the Affordable Housing Coordinator, at rbaker@bendoregon.gov.
Requests for Proposals (RFPs) will be issued on Friday, October 2nd. A question and answer session regarding the RFPs will be available virtually on Thursday, October 22nd at 3:00 p.m. This virtual meeting information will be provided at the informational meetings. The Requests for Proposals will be due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2nd. The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee will deliberate the allocations of funding available at their public meetings from December to February. Funding recommendations will be made to City Council in February and April of 2021. A detailed description of the Affordable Housing Program Funding Schedule is available here.
If you have questions about the allocation informational meetings or the allocation process, please contact me at (541) 312-4915 or rbaker@bendoregon.gov.
