Join Summit West Neighborhood District for a Wildfire Preparedness Seminar at the Downtown Bend library with experts from:

• Oregon State Fire Marshal Office
• Bend Fire & Rescue
• Oregon State University Extension Office
• City of Bend Emergency Management
• Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office – Emergency Management
• Oregon Department of Forestry
• Project Wildfire Neighborhood Coalition

Learn how to safeguard yourself, your home and your neighborhood from the threat of wildfire in Central Oregon. Topics will include:

• Home Hardening
• Defensible Space / Fire-Resistant Landscaping
• Evacuation Readiness
• How to Become a Firewise Community

The Bend Neighborhood Districts (commonly known as Neighborhood Associations) are recognized in Bend Code Chapter 1.70 Neighborhood Associations. Neighborhood Districts maintain and improve the quality of life in Bend, increase community member participation in local decision making, and form an effective partnership between the City and neighborhood residents.
