CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - BROSTERHOUS ROAD

The City of Bend will begin additional construction on a sidewalk and sewer extension project under the railroad bridge on Brosterhous Rd. between Murphy Rd. and Knott Rd. This project is estimated to begin in Mid-October with estimated completion in late spring of 2022.

The project includes installation of a shared use path sidewalk for pedestrians and bikes under the railroad bridge that will connect to existing sidewalks to the north and south. Also included in the work is an extension of the sewer line within Brosterhous Rd.

Road and lane closures will be required during construction:

A one-week full road closure of Brosterhous Rd. to vehicle traffic at the railroad crossing between Murphy Rd. and Knott Rd. will be required. Use signed detour.
The northbound lane of Brosterhous Rd. will remain closed to vehicle traffic through the end of
December.
Access to pedestrians and bikes will remain open during both the full road and lane closures
During construction, heavy equipment will be operating close to residences. Please stay safe and keep children and pets away from the construction area.
Detour includes Murphy Rd., Country Club Dr. and Knott Rd.

15th Street Roundabout completed: October 2019

Fall 2020-Fall 2021: Roadway extension between Brosterhous Road and 15th Street with a bridge overcrossing at BNSF Railway

Addition of railway overcrossing to reduce delays and significantly improve emergency medical services and fire response times for citizens.

Improved visibility at intersections and designated crossings, reduced conflict points for vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Week of May 10 Construction Activities

Crews will pour concrete for the west bridge abutment walls on the extension of Murphy Road over the BNSF Railway. The work is expected to take place on Tuesday, May 11, and requires extended work hours between 5:00 AM and 6:30 PM
Preparation work will continue in advance of the paving of Murphy Road.
Sidewalks and driveway work continues.
Landscape and irrigation work will continue.

Traffic Reminder

The south and east leg of the Murphy Road/Country Club Drive roundabout are open. Murphy Road is one way from Country Club Drive to Parrell Road (local access only).

Westbound Detour: Take Murphy Road to Country Club Drive. Turn right on Knott Road. Turn right on China Hat Road. Turn right on Parrell Road.

Eastbound Detour: Take Murphy Road to Parrell Road. Continue on Parrell Road, turn right on Brosterhous Road, and follow to stop sign. Turn right on Brosterhous Road and follow through Brosterhous Roundabout to Murphy Road.
