SUMMARY:Arbor Week Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Local students from the Bend homeschool community will come together to celebrate Arbor Week Tuesday\, April 9\, 2019 at Hollinshead Park in the Orchard District. The event will kick off at 1:30 pm with a tree planting followed by tree related activities for the students\, such as tree identification and tree trivia contests\, plus each student will go home with a seedling tree as a thank you for their participation.  \nThe event is a partnership between the City of Bend and Bend Park and Recreation District as part of the collaborative efforts as a Tree City USA.  \nThe City received a booster grant from the non-profit Oregon Community Trees and additional funding from Pacific Corp to help purchase the locally grown tree for the planting event and supply blue spruce seedlings and prizes for the students.   \nThis event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to come and celebrate Arbor Week. \n  \nFor questions please contact: \nWendy Robinson  \nCity of Bend Tree City Coordinator \n541-280-7151\, wrobinson@bendoregon.gov
