The City's storm drains are only intended to collect and transport uncontaminated storm water because they flow to the Deschutes River or towards our underground drinking water aquifer.

What is stormwater?

Stormwater is any precipitation (rain, snow, sleet, etc.) that collects on and runs off the land. The Utility Department is dedicated to managing the quality and quantity of stormwater runoff to ensure public safety and protect surface and groundwater resources. The Utility Department manages thousands of stormwater infrastructure facilities throughout the City such as drywells, drill holes, catch basins, stormwater pipe lines, and outfalls.
