Barb Campbell

Barb Campbell was elected to the Bend City Council in 2014.

Council Position: 4

Term Ends: 2024

Councilor Barb Campbell grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and moved to Bend in 1991. She’s lived in a variety of places from Washington, D.C. to Burns, Oregon.

Barb has a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of Denver, and a teaching degree from University of Eastern Oregon.

Her earliest years were on her family’s cattle ranch, where she learned hard work, independence and to freeze at the sound of a rattlesnake. In 4-H she learned the importance of community service, and in high school debate she learned to see everything from two different points of view. She has worked as the director of a daycare center, in construction and hospitality industries, and as an 8th grade science teacher, where she learned lots and lots of patience. She was the founder/owner of Wabi Sabi, where she sold cool Japanese stuff downtown for a decade.

As an activist, she learned that she’d rather work from the inside of government and the rest is history! She was elected to City Council in 2014 and again in 2018 and 2022, where she has learned humility and gratitude. She and her partner own a home at the base of Pilot Butte.
