The City Recorder coordinates meetings for the City Council and Bend Urban Renewal Agency, oversees the City’s public records program, and serves as the City Election Officer. The City Recorder’s Office works to ensure access to, and understanding of, governance in the City of Bend.

Advisory Committees, Boards & Commissions Recruitment and Training
The City Recorder’s Office manages recruitment and appointment processes for City advisory boards. More information on the City’s advisory groups and current vacancies can be found on the Committees, Boards & Commissions webpage.
City Council Meetings
Meeting schedule: The City Council typically meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month, with a work session at 5 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. All Council meetings are open to the public except for executive sessions. Visit the City Calendar for the most up to date schedule.Location & attendance: City Council meetings are typically held in City Hall Council Chambers, located at 710 NW Wall Street in Bend. The public may attend in person or virtually. Meetings are broadcast live on the City’s website and on cable COTV Channel 11 beginning at 6 p.m.
Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to attend a City meeting, please contact the City Recorder’s Office at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. The City provides assisted listening devices at meetings and will also provide meeting materials in alternate formats upon request. TDD service is available through the Oregon Telephone Relay Service for individuals with hearing impairment; the Oregon Telephone Relay Service may be reached at 1-800-735-2900.

Elections
As the City Election Officer, the City Recorder files all candidate nominations and initiative and referendum measures with the Deschutes County Clerk. The County Clerk is the chief election official of the County and coordinates and conducts all elections in Deschutes County.
