The Bend Municipal Court offers several programs to increase traffic safety awareness and vehicle compliance.

NOTICE: It is your responsibility to notify the court, in writing, on or before the time and date written on your summons that you are eligible and wish to participate in one of the below programs.

FIX-IT (VEHICLE COMPLIANCE) PROGRAM

Certain violations/infractions are eligible for the Court’s “Fix-it” program under General Order 101 Violations Bureau.  Proof of correction or repair may result in a dismissal after payment of the $65.00 administrative fee.  If your citation is for “Parking in Disabled Zone (Failure to display valid ADA placard)” and you provide proof that you had a valid placard at the time of the citation, the Court may dismiss the violation after payment of the $15.00 administrative fee.  If you are interested in the Fix-it Program, please contact the court clerk for details and eligibility.

TRAFFIC SAFETY PROGRAMS

The Traffic Safety Programs offered by Bend Municipal Court are offered to qualified drivers for the purpose of educating drivers, promoting safer driving habits, reducing vehicle collisions, and saving lives due to fatal crashes.  Successful completion of one of these programs will result in a dismissal of the violation.

Participation in any of the Court's Traffic Safety Programs requires prior authorization from the Judge or Court Clerk.  To enter into one of the Bend Municipal Court's Traffic Safety Programs, you must appear in person or in writing before the time and date written on your summons and state that you are eligible and wish to participate in one of the programs.  The Court Clerks are authorized to approve Traffic Safety Programs for certain violations.  Participation in all other Traffic Safety Programs must be authorized by the Judge.

Not all citations qualify for Traffic Safety School dismissal programs.

The following Traffic Safety Programs are currently offered:

  1. Adult Driver and Adult At Risk Driver Programs (Ages 25 and Older)
  2. Young Driver and Young At Risk Driver Programs (Ages 24 and Younger)
  3. Driver's License Program (All Ages)

  3. You cannot have been convicted of any other driving or traffic-related violations in the past two years.
  4. You cannot have participated in any other traffic school programs or driving-related diversion programs in the past two years.

The Judge will determine your eligibility for Traffic Safety Programs.  You may not be eligible if:

  1. The incident involved an accident.
  2. The incident involved alcohol and/or a controlled substance.
  3. The incident occurred in a work zone, school zone, or a safety corridor.
  4. The offense is a Class A violation, as specified in the Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS).
  5. As of October 1, 2017, cell phone violations will NOT be eligible for Traffic Safety Programs.

The participation requirements for these programs are:

  2. Pay for and attend a Traffic Safety School from the approved providers list.
  3. Return a Certificate of Completion from the Traffic Safety School provider within 90 days.
  4. Additional requirements for your particular program as stated on your judgment or authorization form.

If you complete all of the requirements, then the violation will be dismissed and will not appear on your driving record.  Please be aware that you may not participate in multiple Traffic Safety Programs related to the same citation unless specifically authorized by the Judge.

The court has the authority to order that you attend Traffic Safety School as a condition of conviction including but not limited to the following circumstances:

  • You were cited for driving a motor vehicle while using a mobile electronic device under ORS 811.507
