When calling the Deschutes County Dispatch Center, be prepared to share the following information:

Reporting Party's Information

• Your first and last name
• Your phone number
• Your address 
• Date and time of complaint

Vehicle Complaint Information

• Vehicle Make / Model / Color
• How long has the vehicle been at the location
• The current vehicle location (exact address or nearest intersection) within the City of Bend
• License plate number and state or VIN
• Any additional descriptors

• A Community Service Officer determines the vehicle is abandoned.

• The vehicle is tagged for impound and/or issued a parking citation.

• The CSO will return to the vehicle three business days from the date of tagging.

• The tow company has 24 hours from the time we request the tow to remove the vehicle.

• If the vehicle is still present and shows no signs of movement, it is subject to tow. 

Why did my vehicle receive a parking violation?

Although you may have parked in front of your own residence, the city ordinance indicates the vehicle cannot be parked for more than three business days in the same location. 

What if I receive a parking violation tag on a weekend or holiday?  

You will be notified three business days after a weekend or holiday.

How far do I have to move my vehicle to avoid being towed once tagged?

The City Code requires continuous movement of your vehicle. Distance is not a factor.

What if my vehicle, RV, boat, etc. is tagged and I just parked it on the street?

We understand that a complaint may have opposing perspectives. This is why we respond three business days after the tag is placed on the vehicle to confirm if it is or is NOT in violation.
