On Jan. 17, 2024, the Bend City Council directed the City of Bend Police Department to move forward with implementing an Automated Traffic Enforcement Program, which will include red light cameras and speed cameras at various intersections throughout the City of Bend.

The Bend Police Department is just beginning this process, and expects that the cameras will be up and running by late summer 2025. The first step in this process will be to go out for a Request for Proposals, soliciting proposals from companies interested in serving as our contractor in this process. Command staff will work with that contractor on a study to determine the intersections in the City of Bend that would most benefit from having cameras installed. We will keep you posted each step of the way.
