Indoor and Outdoor device rebates available to City of Bend Multi-Family, Multi-Plex (5+ units), and Commercial water customers.
When choosing devices, look for the EPA WaterSense label or EnergyStar certification.
Available Rebates
Device quantities may be combined up to a total rebate amount of $4,000 per site*The total bill credit will not exceed the purchase amount per device or a total of $4,000 per site and does not cover costs associated with labor.
How to Apply
- Review eligibility and retrofit requirements.
- Complete rebate application through WaterSmart; access WaterSmart here: bendoregon.gov/watersmart.
- If rebates are being requested for multiple buildings at a site with multiple meters, complete an application for each water meter account where rebates are to be installed.
- Receive a confirmation email that the application has been reviewed; incomplete or unsigned applications cannot be processed.
- Schedule a pre-installation inspection through the provided link in the confirmation email.
- Attend the pre-installation inspection, where device location(s) and quantity will be documented.
- Reference this checklist to prepare for the inspection.
- Receive a pre-inspection report with conditional approval to proceed and details on device type, location, and quantity.
- Purchase and install qualifying devices.
- Applicants have no more than 90 days between receiving conditional approval and scheduling a post-installation inspection.
- Notify the Water Conservation staff via email after installation is complete and include copies of itemized receipts that specify the purchase date, purchase price, manufacturer(s), model number(s), and the number of devices.
- Receive a confirmation email and schedule a post-installation inspection through a provided link.
- Outdoor rebate post-inspections must be scheduled by October 15 to accommodate the end of the irrigation season.
- The post-installation inspection will verify the installed devices and grant final approval.
- Reference this checklist to prepare for the inspection.
- If rebate requirements are not met, as determined by the post-inspection, the rebate may not be approved.
- Rebate is then processed through Utility Billing and applied to the water billing account associated with the application(s); allow 60 days between final approval and utility billing credit.
- If the total rebate amount is greater than the bill it is applied to, the remaining credit will be rolled over and applied to future bills until the rebate amount is exhausted.
