Single Family Residential Rebates Page Art

Indoor and Outdoor device rebates available to City of Bend Single Family, Duplex, Triplex, and Quadplex water customers.

When choosing devices, look for the EPA WaterSense label or EnergyStar certification.

INDOOR

*The total bill credit will not exceed the purchase amount per device and does not cover costs associated with labor.

How to Apply:

Review eligibility and retrofit requirements.
Purchase and install qualifying devices.
Complete rebate application through WaterSmart within 90 days of device purchase; access WaterSmart here: bendoregon.gov/watersmart.

a. Documentation will be required for approval including itemized receipt, photo of device model, and proof of installation.
Receive application approval; incomplete or unsigned applications cannot be processed.
Rebate is then processed through Utility Billing for the approved amount as a credit on your City of Bend water bill; allow 60 days between final approval and utility billing credit.

OUTDOOR

* The total bill credit will not exceed the purchase amount per device and does not cover costs associated with labor.

How to Apply:

Purchase and install qualifying devices.
Complete rebate application through WaterSmart within 90 days of device purchase; access WaterSmart here: bendoregon.gov/watersmart.

a. Documentation will be required for approval including itemized receipt with associated model number.

b. To accommodate the end of irrigation season, outdoor rebate post-inspections must be scheduled by October 15.
Receive a confirmation email that application has been approved; incomplete or unsigned applications cannot be processed.
Schedule a post-installation inspection through provided link in the confirmation email.
Attend the post-inspection where rebate requirements will be verified, and final approval will be granted.

a. If rebate requirements are not met, the rebate may not be approved.
Rebate is then processed through Utility Billing for the approved amount as a credit on your City of Bend water bill; allow 60 days between final approval and utility billing credit.

How to Locate Your Rebate Adjustment on Your Utility Bill

Qualifying rebates will be applied as a credit to the water account holder's utility bill. Look for the "adjustments" section of your bill in the top left corner. The rebate adjustment will be combined with any remaining balance forward' which will ultimately be credited to the current bill.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

Indoor

If the property is owned by someone other than the water account holder, approval should be sought prior to any retrofits.
Account address must be a Single-Family Residential customer or a Multi-Family Residential customer with four or less units.
Applications must be submitted by the water account holder and water account must be in good standing; sewer only customers are not eligible.
The qualifying appliances must remain at the installation site for a minimum of 3+ years after installation.
Application must be submitted within 90 days of purchase.

Appliances must be purchased new, purchased and installed after program start date of April 1, 2023, installed and fully functional; recycled or second-hand products do not qualify for a rebate.
One rebate per product type per water account and one application per water account; however, all three product types may be applied for on one application.

Outdoor

If the property is owned by someone other than the water account holder, approval should be sought prior to any retrofits.

Account address must be a Single Family Residential customer or a Multi-Family Residential customer with four or less units.
Applicants must be submitted by the water account holder and water account must be in good standing; sewer only customers are not eligible.
The sprinkler system to be retrofitted must be in good working order (ie., free from leaks and malfunctions).
Sprinkler systems must have a properly installed, functioning backflow prevention device.
Application must be submitted within 90 days of purchase.

All sprinkler system products must be purchased new, purchased and installed after program start date of April 1, 2023, installed and fully functional; recycled or second-hand products do not qualify for a rebate.
Once the rebated retrofits to the sprinkler system are installed, the system must not produce run-off, over-spray, or misting, in accordance with City Code 14.20.030.
High-efficiency products may not be rebated to replace previously retrofitted and rebated high-efficiency products.
One rebate per product type per water account and one application per water account; however, all four product types may be applied for on one application.
