Public Tours Available at the Water Filtration Facility and the Water Reclamation Facility


WRF Staff Tour

The Utility Department offers tours of the Water Filtration Facility (WFF) and Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) April through October. Each facility offers specific tour dates and space is limited to 6 in a group at the WFF and only 12 in a group at the WRF.

Bend-Works Tour Registration Instructions:  

 
 1.  Create a Bend Works account   
 2.  Select Submit a Service Request  Select New Request
 3.  Select a Location  Any location is fine - it does not matter
 4.  Select a Category  Scroll down to Water Services - Facility Tours
 5.  Select No Photo  
 6.  Select Location and Dates  Water Filtration Facility and/or Water Reclamation Facility
 7.  Confirm Details  



Water Filtration Facility (WFF)

The WFF is located on Skyliner Rd. west of town. This is a closed facility and open to the public only through tours such as these. The tours generally are only about one hour in length and cover the treatment of water, not the watershed intake facility. When signing up for a tour, please be aware the facility takes about 15-20 minutes from the Summit High School area.  On the day of your tour, please allow adequate time to reach the facility and arrive 10 minutes early. WFF Public tours on the 2nd Friday from 10-11 am (1-hour / Limit 6 people per tour date)

Water Reclamation Facility (WRF)

The WRF is located on McGrath Rd. east of town near the Bend Municiple Airport. This is a closed facility and open to the public only through tours such as these. The tours generally are two hours in length and cover the treatment of wastewater. When signing up for a tour, please be aware the facility takes about 15-20 minutes from the Butler Market Rd area.  On the day of your tour, please allow adequate time to reach the facility and arrive 10 minutes early. City employees please see the Utility Department SharePoint page for staff tours. Not recommended for children under 12 yrs. old.

WRF Public tours on the 3rd Thursday from 1-3 pm (2-hours / Limit 12 people per tour date)
