The program issues wastewater discharge permits to a wide range of industries, from metal finishers to pharmaceutical manufacturers to cannabis product producers. The City’s Pretreatment Program plays a critical role in protecting public health and the environment, as well as protecting City workers and valuable wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure. This program aims to improve the quality and efficiency of City utility services while supporting our local economy. The IPP also works directly with businesses to find creative waste management solutions through an innovative Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) program and a newly created Beverage Industry Waste Management Program.
