On January 1, 2020, new rules go into effect in Oregon that will allow people riding bicycles to yield at stop signs or flashing red beacons instead of stopping completely. People riding bicycles must still completely stop at a solid red traffic signal.

The City of Bend has selected Bend Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Todd Riley as Bend’s next Fire Chief. Riley will serve as Bend Fire and Rescue’s sixth Fire Chief in its 100-year history of operation, replacing Chief Larry Langston who will retire later this year.
