Duplex
Duplex means two dwelling units on one lot or parcel. For permitting purposes, units may be attached vertically or horizontally or detached.
In order for a unit to be considered a duplex, it must meet all of the requirements of BDC 3.6.200. Please look at H. There is not a specific unit size limitation for a duplex, although there may be minimum lot area and density restrictions that apply to duplexes that do not apply to ADUs. System Development Charges (SDCs) are required for each duplex dwelling unit.

Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)
Accessory dwelling unit (ADU) means a small, secondary dwelling unit on a lot or parcel with a single-family dwelling unit as a primary use.
In order for a unit to be considered an ADU, it must meet all of the requirements of BDC 3.6.200. Please look at B. ADUs are limited in size to a maximum of 600 or 800 square feet depending on the size of the lot, and are intended to be accessory to the primary dwelling on the site. There is not a specific unit size limitation for a duplex, although there may be minimum lot area and density restrictions that apply to duplexes that do not apply to ADUs. ADUs also have significantly lower System Development Charges (SDCs) than a duplex dwelling unit.
