Taxilane Pavement Rehabilitation Project
The Taxilane Pavement Rehabilitaion Project will enhance safety by providing much needed repairs and rehabilitation for specific areas of Bend Airport's taxilane system to extend the pavement's useful life. Depending on available FAA funding and other factors, selected taxilanes will receive asphalt patching, crack seal and repair, a surface seal, and new painted striping.
Design of the project is underway. Pending additional funding from the FAA, construction is anticipated to start in the summer or fall of 2025 and be completed in the spring or summer of 2026. The project will require temporary and phased closures of selected taxilanes to complete the work.
This work will temporarily prevent users from accessing the runway and taxiway A. Taxilane closures will be phased to minimized disruption. Airport users will be notified of the closure schedule in advance to help them plan around the closures. View the planned phasing.

Taxiway A&B Rehabilitation and Lighting Project
Taxiway A&B Rehabilitation and Medium Intensity Taxiway Lighting Project will enhance the safety and longevity of the Bend Airport’s two parallel taxiways. The asphalt pavement taxiways will receive crack seal, a surface seal, and new painted striping. The blue reflective edge markers will be replaced with blue LED pilot-controlled edge lights for both taxiways. Additionally, the Runway Designators will be updated to 17-35 from the existing 16/34 to align with the Earth’s Magnetic Variation.
Design of the project is underway. Pending additional funding from the FAA, the project is anticipated to start construction in the summer or fall of 2025 and be completed in the spring or summer of 2026. The project will require several closures of both taxiways and the runway, which will be phased to minimize disruption to airport operations as much as feasible.
When and where possible, alternative taxi routes will be made available. Some portions of work will temporarily close the runway. Temporary closure of the taxiways and runway will be phased to minimize disruption. Airport users will be notified of the closure schedule in advance. View the planned phasing.
