The Detective division investigates a variety of crimes, including but not limited to homicides, sexual assaults, child abuse, and robberies.

Detectives
The Bend Police Detective unit is highly specialized and extensively trained in major crime investigations.
Specializations
In addition to the extensive training and experience it takes to excel in the Detective division, several team members also have specialized training in areas such as polygraph test administration and computer forensics.
Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team
The Bend Police Department provides personnel and day-to-day operational supervision to the CODE team. The CODE team is a multi-jurisdictional operation, comprised of federal, state, county and city law enforcement agencies that investigate large-scale drug trafficking organizations.
