A hearings officer is an attorney with experience in Oregon land use law who holds quasi-judicial public hearings on certain types of development proposals. The hearings officer may review larger and more complex projects, called Type III applications, or act in an advisory role to Council.
Meetings
Unlike other public bodies, there are no regularly scheduled hearings officer public hearings. These hearings are only scheduled when certain types of projects call for this kind of review. When needed, the City hires a third party land use attorney to conduct these public hearings.
