Department of Justice Settlement
U.S. Department of Justice 2004 Project Civic Access Settlement Agreement History
A series of inspections were initiated by a complaint filed under title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”), 42 U.S.C. 12131-12134, with the United States Department of Justice (“Department”) against the City of Bend, Oregon (“City”). The complaint was received by the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, under the authority of 28 C.F.R. Part 35, Subpart F. The complaint alleges that the City has not taken steps to provide access to its programs and services. In July 2014, the U.S Department of Justice closed its files on the City of Bend’s 2004 Project Civic Access (PCA) Settlement Agreement. The following information discuss the settlement in detail.
