Oregon Travel Study

Oregon partners completed a travel study in 2023 and 2024. The study focused on people’s daily transportation habits. How do people travel? How far do they go? How much does it cost? The goal is to get a complete picture of regional transportation patterns to better plan for future improvements.

What is the Oregon Travel Study?
The study gathered information about people’s daily transportation habits. How do people travel? How far do they go? How much does it cost? Our goal is to get a complete picture of regional transportation patterns to better plan for future improvements.
The data collected will help us understand how local roads, highways, public transportation, bike lanes, and sidewalks are used today, and how they can be improved to make travel better in the future.

The travel study results will be available in late spring of 2026. Summary information will be posted on this webpage. The results will also be shared at future BMPO Policy Board and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings.
