2026 Camp Fire Axe
June 17 - June 21
Camp Fire Axe is a summer camp held by Bend Fire & Rescue each year for high school students ages 16–19 who are interested in a hands-on experience to learn what it’s like to work as a firefighter or paramedic in their community.
Students will learn from professional firefighter/paramedics from Bend Fire & Rescue about topics such as:
- How fires behave and how emergency teams respond
- Fire engines, ladder trucks, and how to use hoses
- Rescue techniques like getting people out of cars, using ropes, and searching for victims
- Trauma care, CPR, and basic first aid skills
