Transportation Fee Phase 2 Information Session for Business Community
Join representatives from City of Bend staff, City Council, and the Bend Economic Development Advisory Board (BEDAB), to learn more about upcoming changes to non-residential fees as part of Phase 2 of the Transportation Fee in person or online on April 24 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
In person: Council Chambers, City Hall, 710 NW Wall Street, Bend OR
Livestream: https://youtube.com/live/eLhn34SivlE?feature=share
This information session is geared toward the business community and will provide an opportunity to hear about the implementation of Phase 1 of the Transportation Fee and what to expect as we transition to Phase 2, which will begin on July 1, 2025.
In Phase 1, the City has been charging the Transportation Fee to businesses based on square footage. In Phase 2, the City will also include business-use data to determine non-residential fees. This means business uses that generate more trips on our transportation network may be charged at a higher rate than those that generate fewer trips. The City collects business-use data through its Business Registration program using North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes.
This Phase 2 changes aim to more accurately assess businesses for their impact on the transportation system. While there are some nuances that City Council and the Bend Economic Development Advisory Board (BEDAB) have been working through, this information session will provide businesses with greater awareness of the process to-date and upcoming fee changes.
