DRAFT UNIFIED PLANNING WORK PROGRAM (UPWP) POSTED FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT

2018-2019 Bend MPO UPWP

Comments should be sent in writing (mail, email) to the address below by 12: 00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018. All public comments will be summarized and presented to the Bend MPO Policy Board prior to action at their meeting on April 17, 2018.

The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is the proposed program budget for the upcoming Fiscal Year (July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019).   The UPWP includes descriptions of planning tasks, a schedule for completing tasks, and source of funding. The UPWP is updated annually.  The majority of the funds that support the UPWP tasks come from Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) Funds.  

Major Tasks for the 2018-19 UPWP include:

• Bend Metropolitan Transportation Plan Update
  • with coordination of subarea planning efforts such as;
    • Bend US97 Parkway Plan
    • Deschutes County Intelligent Transportation Plan (ITS) Update
    • Cascade East Transit Regional Plan Update

It is anticipated that the draft document will be finalized when the Bend Policy Board adopts the FY 2018-19 UPWP in May  2018.
