Key Routes
The City is designing a variety of safer and more accessible bike and pedestrian routes throughout the community, including along Butler Market Road from Boyd Acres Road to Brinson Avenue. This heavily traveled NE corridor has been identified as a Key Route for safe bike and pedestrian travel enhancements. Making this corridor safer and more bike and pedestrian friendly was identified in the City of Bend Transportation System Plan as a high priority project for NE Bend. The Butler Market Road Key Route project is funded by the voter-approved 2020 Transportation GO Bond.
Survey Responses
Thank you to the nearly 400 people that provided feedback on design concepts for the Butler Market corridor during an online survey in May 2023. City staff are now working on a design that will include both separated and buffered bicycle lanes and wider sidewalks where feasible. Combined with the Butler Market and Wells Acres Roads roundabout intersection improvement, this well-traveled roadway will receive much-needed improvements for safer travel. Information on the project can be found at: bendoregon.gov/butler-boyd.
