Emergency Homelessness Task Force – Meeting 3 of 6

The joint City/County Emergency Homelessness Task Force (EHTF) led by Councilor Perkins and Commissioner Chang met for the third time on Tuesday, August 31. The first three meetings covered stakeholder to scoping mappings. For the next three, the plan is to go over gaps analysis, strategy development, and launch of the strategy discussion.

The purpose of the Task Force is to bring the most informed minds on houselessness together to inform both the City and the County on collaborative opportunities with countywide resources and to develop actions toward ending houselessness in Deschutes County including interim actions to address real-time needs. There are also three subgroups within the EHTF: 1. Authorized Encampment, 2. Permanent Supportive Housing Sustainable Funding, and 3. Emergency Protocol.
