Empire Corridor Improvements Project Weekly Update – August 20, 2020
Project Overview
Empire Corridor Improvements is a priority project in Northeast Bend that greatly improves safety, transportation options, access, and east-west connections for the neighborhood and the traveling public.
The Empire Avenue Extension was completed in August. This extension begins at the east side of the new roundabout at Empire Avenue & Purcell Boulevard and continues southeast to the intersection of 27th Street & Butler Market Road. In mid-August, the new roundabout at 27th Street & Butler Market reopened to traffic in the northbound and southbound directions. The opening of the eastern Butler Market approach will coincide with the completion of the Butler Market Road & Deschutes Market Road on September 1. The opening of the western Butler Market Road approach will occur in late September or early October.
