Empire Corridor Improvements Project Weekly Update – July 1, 2020

Happy 4th of July Weekend!

  • Construction crews will not be working Friday, July 3rd through Sunday, July 5th. Construction will resume Monday, July 6th.
  • Please stay out of construction zones and away from construction equipment. Excavated areas are considered unsafe for yourself, children, and pets.
  • Walk only on designated walkways.
  • Access to the construction area is limited to construction workers.
  • Do not remove barriers or warning signs/warning tape or fencing. 

Empire pedestrian/bicycle undercrossing will be open to the public in late July.

  • Empire Avenue will extend to 27th Street/Butler Market Road.  
  • North-south legs of 27th & Butler Market roundabout is scheduled to open mid-August.
  • Deschutes Market Road and Eagle Cole Road roundabouts will open in early September.
  • Construction is dependent on weather conditions and other factors.

Blasting Will Occur Thursday, July 2nd and July 7th– 9th near Butler Market Road & Deschutes Market Road and the Yeoman Road area.

  • All Blasting will take place on or near the Petrosa Development.
  • Blasting is dependent on weather conditions and other factors.
