Ferguson Sewer Improvements Project Update – August 28, 2023
TENTATIVE UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Crews have completed the installation of sewer pipe, maintenance holes, and sewer laterals.
- Pipe and maintenance hole testing will occur in the next few days. Following successful testing, all gravity sewer along Ferguson Road will be live. Those homes that received a new sewer service with this project will receive a Notice of Operational Completion (NOC) in the mail.
- Crews are pouring concrete intermittently as part of the ADA curb ramps, sidewalk, and driveway restorations.
- Crews have begun to remove the old pressure sewer in Ferguson Road from King Solomon Rd. to Ferguson Ct. *This will occur under 2-way flagging*
- Crews will begin to prep the road base (grading and compacting) for paving.
- Paving is expected to occur mid to late September. Paving activities will be performed under 2-way flagging. Please expect minor delays.
- Crews may need to work some Saturdays to meet the schedule.
- For those along Ferguson currently served by septic and receiving a new sewer lateral with this project, visit www.bendoregon.gov/septictosewerprogram for more information on connecting to sewer after receiving the Notice of Operational Completion. Contact the project team (contact information provided below) if you have any questions.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION
- Noise, dust, and vibrations will occur during construction.
- Please consider traffic delays and allow extra time when planning your commute. Please drive slowly through the construction work zone.
- School bus stops along Ferguson Road will remain in place. Bus riders will have access to wait at the stop and load onto the bus. There will be a flagger on site to assist as needed.
TRAFFIC CONTROL
Ferguson Road will remain closed to eastbound traffic from Sarah Drive to 27th Street until all manholes are coated with a corrosion protection lining. This is anticipated to occur at the end of the week. Once this stage of closure is removed, please expect 2-way flagging for the remainder of the project.
