July Project Update and Preconstruction Open House Information
Completed Activities:
The first phase of work, completed this spring, included survey and geotechnical work along Murphy, between Parrell and 15th, construction of the high school waterline loop, and preliminary earthwork/grading at the location of the future Murphy Road railroad overpass.
Two open houses were held in March and June, respectively, to solicit community input. The project team shared conceptual designs, alternatives, and project timelines at the June 14th open house.
Upcoming Activities:
Design: The project team is continuing to design the remainder of the corridor. The 15th Street roundabout and sidewalk designs are nearing finalization. Design is underway for the Brosterhous Road roundabout. The Alternatives Analysis for the Modernization, Country Club roundabout, Extension, and BNSF Bridge will be complete in early September.
Preconstruction Open House: An open house prior to construction of the 15th Street roundabout and sidewalk extension will be held Tuesday, August 6th between 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., at the Murphy Project Staging Area, directly across from entrance of The Bridges at Shadow Glen Neighborhood, 61155 SE 15th Street, Bend. Parking will be available in the open field west of 15th Street.
Construction: Construction of the 15th Street roundabout and sidewalk extension will begin in August and is expected to be open to traffic in November.
