Neff and Purcell Improvement Project Update – October 13, 2023

SAFETY FIRST

Heavy machinery and equipment are very active throughout the work zone and nearby roadways. Slow down, obey flaggers and signs, and use designated detour routes. Crews will be working Saturday, October 14.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 

Electrical components installed for traffic signal pole. Loader hauling fill material at sunrise. Electrical components installed for traffic signal pole at northwest corner of Neff and Purcell (facing east)

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES – October 14 –20  

Neff and Purcell Intersection

  • Grader work in preparation for roadway paving. 
  • Concrete preparation work for new curbs continues. Crews will work Saturday, October 14.
  • Traffic signal installation work continues.
  • Sidewalk demo and replacement on Purcell Boulevard continues. Residents with impacted driveways will receive notice.
  • The franchise utilities, such as gas, power, cable, etc., are progressing towards completion of relocating facilities to their ideal locations and depths.
  • Utility relocation near Cliff Drive and Neff Road continues. 

Purcell Extension 

  • Installation of the new crosswalk illumination continues
  • Pouring of curb on east side of Purcell Boulevard
  • Preparation work for sidewalks begins

Neff and Purcell Intersection Detour Routes

  • Eastbound (south option) – go south on Eighth Street, east on Greenwood Avenue, north on 27th Street  
  • Eastbound (north option) – go north on Eighth Street, east on Butler Market Road and south on 27th Street 
  • Westbound (south option) – go south on 27th Street, west on Greenwood Avenue, north on Eighth Street  
  • Westbound (north option) – go north on 27th Street, west on Butler Market Road and south on Eighth Street 

Temporary Pedestrian Access Routes

Please use marked temporary pedestrian detours. Please be aware these temporary pedestrian access routes will change as needed during different phases of work.
