North Interceptor Sewer Project Construction has Commenced – July 30, 2019

The North Interceptor Sewer Line is a large diameter sewer transmission line that allows the City to decommission pump stations and increase sanitary sewer capacity as part of the Community-supported Growth Plan. The sewer line will provide sewer conveyance to serve both developed and undeveloped lands.

The Phase 1 Preconstruction Open House was held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Community members had the opportunity to meet the project and construction team, ask questions and learn about project plans, construction timelines, and impacts to surrounding neighborhoods.

  • Phase 1 construction of the North Interceptor Sewer Line began in July at the Water Reclamation Facility.
  • In August, construction will include installation of erosion control and work zone delineation, as well as excavation and installation of the pipeline between the Water Reclamation Facility to Gentry Loop.
  • Blasting is scheduled to begin east of Gentry Loop on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, between 7:00 a.m. and 6 p.m. Drilling and blasting are a common means of rock excavation in the area and anticipated during construction. All property owners with structures within 300 feet of the blasting area will be contacted directly by the contractor. Preconstruction and post-construction surveys will be completed by the contractor to ensure no damage to any private property.  Please work with our contractor to gain access to your property so that this survey may be completed in the best way possible.
