Remaining Project Schedule Highlights
August
- Week of August 13th: Paving crews will be on-site between Newport Av and Galveston Av beginning Monday morning, August 13th. Paving and striping activities will take place throughout the week with the re-opening currently scheduled for end of day, Friday the 17th.
- Week of August 13th: 14th Street from Albany Ave to Galveston Ave, franchise utility line work and waterline upgrades will continue. Traffic control will include lane shifts and flagged closures. Both lanes of travel will remain open along 14th Street, and select side streets will have limited access during construction hours, fully open in the evenings.
- Week of August 20th: The Northbound lane of 14th Street will be the first to be closed on the NW Albany Av to Galveston Av segment of Phase 2. Northbound traffic will be detoured at the Simpson Roundabout to Mt Washington with local access remaining open between Simpson and Albany.
September
- Week of September 3rd: Full closure of 14th St. between Albany Av and Galveston Av. 14th Street traffic will be detoured at the Simpson Roundabout and Galveston Roundabout to Mt Washington with local access remaining open between Simpson and Albany.
- Cascade Natural Gas will complete several system upgrades during the full closure. Upgrades will extend from the north side of the Galveston Roundabout to Commerce Av. The work will be executed concurrent to the full closure and city project to reduce the overall impact to the surrounding community and travelling public.
October
- By month’s end – 14th Street Reconstruction Project is completed
- Tree plantings for entire project between Simpson Av to NW Newport Av are scheduled to be completed during the month of October
