Utility Department Practices Mock Emergency Management Exercise

The City of Bend Utility Department completed its mock chemical exposure emergency management tabletop exercise on November 6th, 2023. The department followed the FEMA Incident Command structure, successfully assessing the potential threat and evaluating the operational next steps and communication strategies. The Environmental Protection Agency requires the Utility Department to perform exercises such as these to comply with rules and regulations associated with municipal water treatment and delivery.
