For the Week of August 12 – 18

  • 2024 CityFest – This City sponsored event will feature various City departments, live music, and a “state of the City” message from the mayor. The event will take place Aug.15 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Road closure listed below.
    • SE Ninth Street between SE Wilson Avenue and SE Woodland Boulevard
  • Cooley Road between Highway 20 and Hunnel Road for infrastructure and roadway improvements, full road closure with detour, reopens Monday, Aug. 12.
  • Robal Lane between Highway 20 and Hunnel Road for infrastructure and roadway improvements, full road closure with detour, begins Monday, Aug. 12.
  • Midtown Crossing Project – The Greenwood Avenue quick build portion of this project between NW Bond Street and NE Third Street will be completed with a full redesign of this street section. Both Day & Night work is proposed for the duration of the project, with expected workdays listed below. Night work hours will be 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. The project timeline is from July 29 – Aug.12.     • Aug. 12 Night full closure Greenwood between Wall Street and Second Street, northbound/southbound Bond Street remain open.
    • Aug. 13 Night full closure Greenwood between Wall Street and Second Street, northbound/southbound Bond Street remain open.

  • SE 15th Street between Knott Road and SE Caldera Drive will have frontage improvements, single lane closure with flagging, Aug. 5 – 23.
  • Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project, Phase 2 – This project will provide water distribution system upgrades to the Awbrey Butte area with eight interrelated water improvement subprojects. For more information, visit the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project website.
    • Saginaw Avenue from College Way to West Hills Avenue: One-Way (Eastbound) local access. Westbound traffic to access College Way via Portland Avenue.
    • Saginaw Avenue: West Hills Avenue to Juniper Street: Closed to through traffic for storm drain system construction and waterline installation. Detour to use Quincy Avenue and Juniper Street with flaggers at Quincy Avenue and Juniper Street for local traffic.
    • Juniper Street from Saginaw Avenue to Trenton Avenue: Local access only for installation of water line.
    • Trenton Avenue and 12th Street: Self-regulating single lane closure on for franchise utility gas work.


Ongoing Closures:

  • Boyd Acres Road between Brinson Boulevard and Builders Street will have frontage improvements for a private development, lane closure with lane shift, Aug. 7- 22.
  • Street Preservation – Various higher order Streets within Bend will have repaving completed. Valve adjustments will begin this week. The work will primarily take place during nighttime hours. Full street closures with limited local access only during its duration (expect delays). July 15 – Sept. 17 (weather dependent). Learn more at the Street Preservation webpage.
    • Reed Market Road between Brookswood Boulevard and Highway 97 (parkway), full nighttime closures, Aug. 12 – 21.
    • Deschutes Market between NE Butler Market Road and NE Yeoman Road, full nighttime closure, Aug. 5 – 12.
    • NE Bear Creek Road between NE Franklin Avenue and NE 15th Street, full nighttime closures, Aug. 27 – Sept. 4.
    • NE Division Street between NE Revere Avenue and NE Third Street, full nighttime closures, September 10 – 17.
  • Century Drive between SW Donovan Avenue and SW Taylor Court for paving and striping, single lane closure with lane shift, Aug.15 – 22.
  • NE Quimby Avenue between NE Fifth Street and NE Seventh Street will have a water main replacement, full road closure with local access only, July 8 – mid September.
  • NE Butler Market Road between Eagle Road and Clyde Lane for frontage improvements, westbound lane closure with detour, June 24 – Aug.19.
  • SW Simpson Avenue between NW Mt. Washington Drive and NW Century Drive will have a water main installation, full eastbound lane closure with detour, July 8 – August 30.
  • SW 18th Street between SW Simpson Avenue and SW Forest Ridge Avenue for infrastructure improvements, full road closure with detour, March 25 – Aug. 30.
  • Parrell Road between Badger Road and Silver Sage Street will continue infrastructure improvements, southbound lane closure with detour (northbound will remain open), July 1 – September 9.
  • NW Crossing Farmers Market – Special event occurring every Saturday June 1 – October 12. Multiple road closures related to event (listed below).
    • NW Crossing Drive between Mount Washington Drive and NW Crossing Drive (Circle).
    • NW John Freemont between NW Ordiway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street.
    • NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Freemont Street.
  • Silver Sage Sewer Project – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Tentatively starting on May 6, 2024: Silver Sage Street, Benham Road between Murphy Road and Rae Road, Concho Street, Loy Lane and the North-end of Tapadera Street will be closed with tentative plans for reopening in mid-Oct. 2024.   • Bend North Corridor, ODOT Project – Infrastructure improvements along Highway 97 from Empire Avenue to Grandview Drive. Highway 97 will also be realigned to allow free flowing movement. Various types of traffic control will be implemented during construction. Expect additional delays throughout this segment of the corridor. Expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
    • Empire onramp northbound will be redirected toward the newly built Highway 97 and connects to the new Highway 97 alignment.
    • Southbound Highway 97 will be transitioned to the new alignment, to open the southbound lanes of the new Highway 97 began on July 26.

Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.

Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
