Weekly Road and Traffic Report for the Week of September 9 – 15
For the Week of September 9 – 15:
- Century Drive will be closed from SW Donovan Avenue to SW Taylor Court. OSU-Cascades will be constructing a mini roundabout at the intersection of Century Drive and Taylor Court. The full road closure will begin on Monday, Sept. 9, and continue through Friday, Nov.15. A detour will be in place, directing traffic to SW Colorado Avenue, SW Columbia Street, and SW Simpson Avenue.
- SE Daly Estates Drive between SE Capella Place and SE Reed Market Road for a sewer main installation, full road closure with local access only, Sept. 9 – 20.
- SW Simpson Avenue between SW 18th Street and SW 15th Street will have infrastructure installations, single lane closure with flagging, Sept. 9 – 13.
Ongoing Closures:
- NE Lytle Street between NE Quimby Avenue and NE Penn Avenue for a water main replacement, full road closure with local access only, Sept. 4 – 26.
- Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project, Phase 2 – This project will provide water distribution system upgrades to the Awbrey Butte area with eight interrelated water improvement subprojects. For more information, visit the Awbrey Butte Waterline Improvements Project website.
- Trenton Avenue from Juniper Street to 12th Street: Local access only for installation of water line and franchise utility (GAS) work. Traffic to detour using Iowa Avenue and West Hills Avenue.
- Portland Avenue from Awbrey Road to Steidl Road: Single Lane closure under flaggers for franchise utility (GAS) work.
- Midtown Crossing Project (Second Street work) – A multiphase project that will replace the water main from Greenwood Avenue to Franklin Avenue in preparation for the full reconstruction occurring next spring. Phase 1 occurs from Aug. 15 – Oct. 15. Road closures with local access will occur in its entirety. Current road section work listed below.
- Second Street between Greenwood Avenue and NE Hawthorne Avenue.
- NW Harriman Street between NW Kearney Avenue and NW Greenwood Avenue for infrastructure work associated with the Deschutes County Courthouse, full road closure, began July 24.
- Boyd Acres Road between Brinson Boulevard and Builders Street will have frontage improvements for a private development, lane closure with lane shift, Aug. 7 – Sept. 27.
- Street Preservation – Various higher order Streets within Bend will have repaving completed. Valve adjustments will begin this week. The work will primarily take place during nighttime hours. Full street closures with limited local access only during its duration (expect delays). July 15 – September 17 (weather dependent). Learn more at the Street Preservation webpage.
- Riverside Boulevard between the Galveston Bridge and W Broadway Street, full nighttime closures, Sept. 4 – 11.
- NE Division Street between NE Revere Avenue and NE Third Street, full nighttime closures, Sept. 10 – 17.
- NE Butler Market Road between Highway 20 and BNSF railroad, full nighttime closure including offramp from highway, Sept. 16 – 18.
- NE Quimby Avenue between NE Fifth street and NE Seventh Street will have a water main replacement, full road closure with local access only, July 8 – mid Sept.
- Parrell Road between Badger Road and Silver Sage Street will continue infrastructure improvements, southbound lane closure with detour (northbound will remain open), July 1 – Sept. 9.
- NW Crossing Farmers Market – special event occurring every Saturday June 1 – Oct. 12. Multiple road closures related to event (listed below).
- NW Crossing Drive between Mt. Washington Drive and NW Crossing Drive (Circle).
- NW John Freemont Street between NW Ordiway Avenue and NW Fort Clatsop Street.
- NW Fort Clatsop Street between NW Ordway Avenue and NW John Freemont Street.
- Silver Sage Sewer Project – The yearly project includes installing gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals to allow properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. Tentatively starting on May 6, 2024: Silver Sage Street, Benham Road between Murphy Road and Rae Road, Concho Street, Loy Lane and the North-end of Tapadera Street will be closed with tentative plans for reopening in mid-October 2024. Work schedules are dependent on weather conditions and other factors. Always exercise increased caution within construction zones. Drivers should use designated detour routes. Nearby residential streets are for local traffic only.
Any road closure not listed within this report, please submit a service request to notify the city of any potentially unpermitted work within City right of way. Please visit the Transportation and Mobility Department to submit.
