Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – February 2, 2024

The Wilson Avenue Corridor is a multi-phase modernization project that will improve safety and east-west connectivity for all users along Wilson Avenue from Second Street to 15th Street.

Waterline system upgrades are being constructed as part of the project to optimize synergy opportunities.

TRAFFIC CHANGE BEGINS FEBRUARY 8:

Traffic light at Third Street and Wilson Avenue will be converted to a temporary stop sign during construction

During the evening of February 8, the traffic signal at Third Street and Wilson Avenue will be temporarily replaced with a stop sign as part of the Wilson Avenue Corridor Project. For those traveling eastbound on Wilson Avenue at the Third Street intersection, the only option will be a right turn to go southbound on Third Street; there will be no left turn option to go northbound on Third Street. Left turns onto Second Street will still be possible. (See detour map below.)The removal of the signal places construction a month ahead of schedule, with completion expected in May.

The new traffic signal will enhance traffic flows and improve both driver and pedestrian safety.
