Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – July 8, 2022

The Wilson Avenue & 9^th Street roundabout is now open!

SAFETY FIRST

The project team created a video to help explain how to navigate Bend’s first-ever bicycle-protected roundabout.

The roundabout works the same as a single-lane roundabout but has a protected bike lane around the outside, between the sidewalk and vehicle lane. If you’re riding a bike, you’ll have the option to ride in the protected bike lane or the vehicle travel lane.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 

9^th Street  & Wilson Avenue

• Landscape and irrigation work will continue through mid-July. 

Work along Wilson Avenue will progress eastward to build improvements between 9^th Street and 15^th Street. Eastbound traffic between 9^th Street and 15^th Street on Wilson will be detoured at the end of July or early August. Access at 15^th Street and Wilson Avenue will be maintained through October.

Construction of the full project corridor is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2023.

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES

• Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
• Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
• Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

• EMS, buses, and many other delivery/service providers have been included on this distribution list.
• Please help us spread the word to your clients, customers, and delivery personnel regarding detouring and closures.
