Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – May 20, 2022

SAFETY FIRST

When driving, there are many demands on your attention. You may miss bicyclists if you’re distracted or focusing on only one area of the road. The best way to prevent colliding with a bike rider is to make sharing the road second nature. Remember to look twice before turning, and always yield to bicyclists.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR MAY 23 – MAY 27 

Wilson Avenue Corridor Project – Ninth Street and Wilson Avenue Roundabout 

  • Final excavation work will continue on the east end of Wilson Avenue. 
  • Crews will handset the island and roundabout curbs. 
  • Sidewalk prep work will continue as crews continue pouring sidewalks and driveways. 
  • The truck apron, designed to support the weight of large trucks and help long vehicles turn safely through the roundabout, will be poured. 
  • Crews will pour stamped concrete islands.

Construction of the Ninth Street and Wilson Avenue Roundabout is anticipated to be completed by the end of June 2022.  

DETOURS IN EFFECT

The Ninth Street/Wilson Avenue Intersection Remains Closed.

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES

  • Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
  • Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
  • Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

PROJECT COMMUNICATIONS

  • EMS, buses, and many other delivery/service providers have been included on this distribution list.
  • Please help us spread the word to your clients, customers, and delivery personnel regarding detouring and closures.
  • Share the project website information (provided below), where others can also sign up for updates.
