Wilson Avenue Corridor Project Update – September 16, 2022

SAFETY FIRST

With fall right around the corner, here are a few tips on how to avoid seasonal driving hazards.

  • Avoid braking on leaves. Wet leaves can be slippery and cause wheels to lose traction. 
  • Watch for deer. Deer tend to be more active in the fall during sunrise and sunset. 
  • Be prepared for morning frost conditions. During the fall, temperatures can change rapidly overnight, creating icy road conditions.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FOR SEPTEMBER 17 – SEPTEMBER 23 

Modernization of 9th Street to 15th Street

  • Crews may work on Saturday, September 17. 
  • Curbs will be poured on Thursday, September 22, between 9th Street and Manley Place.
  • Storm lines and catch basins will continue to be installed. 
  • Street excavation and curb work are ongoing.

Westbound traffic will be maintained on Wilson Avenue through October.  

Drivers will have full access, and no significant impacts are anticipated to 15th Street until early March 2023. Construction of the entire project corridor is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2023.

GENERAL PROJECT NOTES

  • Access to all area businesses along the construction area will be maintained.
  • Please do not enter the construction zone before, during, or after hours.
  • Daytime work hours are in effect from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
  • There are many construction projects in the area and throughout the City of Bend. Travel safely. 

PROJECT COMMUNICATIONS

  • Please help us in spreading the word to your clients, customers, and delivery personnel regarding detouring and closures. 
  • EMS, buses, and many other delivery/service providers have been included on this distribution list.
  • Share the project website information (provided below), where others can also sign up for updates.
