Learn about Bend’s Bike Share Program—Powered by Veo.
Starting the week of July 7, Bend welcomes a brand-new way to get around town: shared e-bikes from Veo. This permanent bike share program is the result of the City’s ongoing efforts to make transportation more affordable, accessible, and climate-friendly.
Why Veo?
Veo is a nationally recognized shared mobility company selected by the City of Bend to launch and operate the program. Their fleet of 300 modern e-bikes will be available across the city—just unlock one via the Veo app and ride. Whether you’re commuting, running errands, or exploring Bend car-free, Veo offers a convenient and fun option for getting around.
This follows a successful pilot run with Bird (2022–2024), and builds on valuable lessons learned, especially around responsible bike parking and safe riding practices.
A Ride Toward a Greener Bend
The City’s vision for the permanent program is rooted in reducing traffic congestion, lowering emissions, and improving transportation equity. E-bikes help minimize single-occupancy vehicle use and offer a low-cost way to travel—while supporting Bend’s climate goals.
How It Works
- Download the Veo App (available on iOS and Android)
- Locate a nearby bike and unlock it with your phone
- Ride safely and park responsibly when done
- Pay per ride or explore pricing options in the app
Riding Dos and Don’ts
To keep everyone safe, here are some basic guidelines:
DO:
- Yield to pedestrians
- Park responsibly
- Wear a helmet
- Use bike lanes and streets
- Obey traffic laws
DON’T:
- Ride if you’re under 18
- Carry a second rider
- Ride on sidewalks
- Ride under the influence

For inquiries about a specific vehicle, please provide the vehicle’s location and, if possible, the vehicle number found between the handlebars, just below the QR code. Your input helps us keep the system running smoothly and accessible for everyone.

It cost $1 to unlock and $0.39 per minute to ride a VEO bike in Bend.
You can ride your VEO bike anywhere in the City of Bend. In some areas you will notice the bike slowing down to ensure safety of pedestrians and other community members.
Please always use common sense when riding your bike and watch out for pedestrians and others when you ride on a trail.
Adhere to “no sidewalk riding” requirements where applicable- it endangers members of our community who want to walk freely. Some areas in Bend (i.e. Downtown) prohibit bikes in sidewalks.
Don’t park bikes where they block access to sidewalks or building entrances. Please park them near existing bike racks or in a mobility point when available.
Return your bike in designated mobility points only. Designated areas may be marked with ground paint and/or sign. Additional parking areas will be indicated in the App.
