Councilor Office Hours
City Councilors Nathan Boddie and Casey Roats, who participated in the Sewer Infrastructure Advisory Group process that led to a citywide plan for sewer improvement priorities across Bend, will be relocating their Office Hour (regularly scheduled for the fourth Monday evening of the month) to 27th Street area to discuss sewer plans or any topic of residents’ concerns.
Please drop in and meet your Councilors:
6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 27, in the café at Barnes & Noble at 2690 NE Hwy 20 in the Forum Shopping Center. Project managers from the sewer project will also be at this Office Hour.
Council office hours are an opportunity to sit down and talk with one or two of your elected leaders in an informal setting. Drop-ins are welcome and there is no agenda for these meetings.
However, sometimes certain active land-use issues require the Council to serve as a quasi-judicial body, which means there will be occasional topics Councilors don’t discuss outside of public hearings when the full body is present and public input is incorporated into the record. Councilors are advised to avoid communicating with anyone who could be involved in the pending quasi-judicial land use proceeding outside of the designated public hearing.
Other ongoing land-use processes that are considered “legislative” instead of “quasi-judicial” are unrestricted. (For example, the Urban Growth Boundary process.) Councilors can converse freely on legislative issues during office hours, but visitors should know that office hours conversations are not part of the official public record used in making land-use decisions.
