Awbrey Butte Waterline Project – Construction Update – June 20, 2023

SAFETY FIRST 

Drive carefully through the work zone. Please be aware of construction activities, including open-trench excavation. Open trenches are fenced off at the end of each day.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Week of June 19 construction activities:

• Crews will begin installation of new water main along Second Street between Utica Avenue and Vicksburg Avenue. Traffic control includes a partial closure with local access on NW Second Street.

• Most of the water work along NW Utica Avenue will be completed this week; however, crews will come back in the following months for minor surface improvements.

Week of June 26 construction activities:

• The remainder of the NW Second Street water main will be installed. Traffic control includes a partial closure with local access on NW Second Street.

• Crews will begin to install temporary water services along Vicksburg Avenue.

• Excavation work may occur along Vicksburg Avenue at the top of NW Second Street. Traffic control includes a partial closure with local access on NW Second Street from Utica Avenue.

DETOURS IN EFFECT

• A portion of the streets mentioned above may be closed for excavation and water main construction activities. Please follow the necessary road closed and detour signs, and reference the online detour map for additional information.
• Flaggers will be present for the construction activities as needed.

General Project Notes

• Access to all local streets and driveways will be maintained with minor delays.
• Emergency response vehicle access will be maintained throughout construction.
