The Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization (BMPO), the transportation planning organization for the urbanized Bend area, is requesting your comments on the draft update of the BMPO Title VI and Environmental Justice Plan.

What is the purpose of the BMPO Title VI Plan & Environmental Justice Plan?
Overall, the Plan addresses how the MPO is integrating nondiscriminatory practices into transportation planning, public participation, and decision making; and considers opportunities to enhance current efforts. Specifically, the purpose of the Plan is the following: to prevent federally funded, transportation planning actions from having disproportionate impacts on minority, low-income, and other traditionally under-represented populations; to assess the distribution of benefits and impacts of transportation projects and programs on protected populations; and to ensure that all people – regardless of race, color, national origin, disability, age, gender, or income status – have equal access to the MPO transportation decision-making process.

Are we missing anything in the Plan? Do you have suggestions to add or revise content? Your input is valuable and appreciated.

Please provide your comments by email, or mail (710 NW Wall Street, Bend, OR 97703) by July 12th. Additionally, you may comment in person at the public hearing for adoption of the Plan at the Bend MPO Policy Board meeting currently scheduled for Tuesday, September 17th at 12pm, held at the Deschutes Services Building, 1300 NW Wall Street, in Bend – located in the DeArmond Room.
