Building Safety Division – Plan Examiners Review Times
All plan review times vary depending on the scope of work and the quantity and quality of information provided in the plan design. The below timeframes reflect the status of the review process after the Prescreen step and after being assigned to a Permit Technician, only upon completion of those two steps is a project routed to the Plans Examiners and other review divisions.

Currently reviewing residential projects submitted to the Plans Examiners on 5/1/15.
Currently reviewing commercial type projects submitted to the Plans Examiners on 4/29/15.
There were 28 projects submitted for review the week of 5/4 – 5/8

All plan review times vary depending on the scope of work and the quantity and quality of information provided in the plan design.
Residential Review Times
Residential plan reviews typically take less than a day to review. Once the review is complete it is typically approved or a request for further information is submitted to the applicant. If additional information is requested, the additional information will typically be reviewed within five business days of submittal.
Commercial Review Times
Commercial plan review time frames are much more varied than residential, due to the intricacy of the commercial codes. It is typical for commercial plan reviews to have requests for information upon completion of the initial plan review. Commercial plan reviews can take more than three weeks.
