PROJECT UPDATE

Safety First

Heavy equipment operations are very active throughout the work zone. Thank you for driving carefully and using caution in the construction area and along the detour route.

• Installation of new 36” sewer line begins.
• Installation and relocation of stormwater structures on the south side of Butler Market Road continues.
• Franchise utilities, like telecommunications and power, etc., continue relocation of their infrastructure.
• A 1-2 day access closure of Jones Road will be in place by a franchise utility contractor for relocation of their infrastructure. The date has not yet been determined.

Closures and Detours

Westbound Butler Market Road is closed for construction from Brinson Boulevard to Eighth Street. To reduce impacts to traffic, eastbound travel will remain open for the duration of construction. Emergency response vehicle access will be maintained throughout construction.

• Detour Map

Periodic closures of access to side streets will be required. Please follow posted signs. Access to side streets are currently open; however, temporary closures of side street access will be required throughout construction.

NOTE: Dates are subject to change. 

Improvements Above and Below Ground 

Once complete, the project will deliver a long-desired upgrade to intersection safety and travel reliability, sewer system improvements, and safer connections for pedestrians and bicyclists traveling between neighborhoods, schools, parks, and businesses in the area.
