City not involved in water line insurance letters

Recently, some City of Bend water customers have contacted the city regarding information mailed to them about insurance for repairs or replacement to water supply lines. The City of bend is in no way affiliated with the company offering such coverage and has had no involvement with the mailing. The City does not endorse or have any partnership with any organizations offering this service. Questions regarding the mailed information should be directed to the company listed in the material.

If a City customer’s waterline breaks on their side of the meter, they usually are responsible for the repair and all costs incurred as part of the repair. Customers should also check with their home owner’s insurance company to see what may be covered under those plans.
