Empire Corridor Improvements Project Update – February 18, 2021

Construction Resumes on NE Purcell Blvd Beginning Monday, February 22

This work will occur between Butler Market Road and the NUID canal and should be complete by March 3rd. Expect single-lane closures during this time and use alternate routes
when possible to avoid delays.

The Empire Improvement Corridor is entering its final stage, with construction scheduled to continue through September 2021. This will include:

• Utility locations on NE Purcell Blvd.  Expect intermittent lane closures and delays (February – April 30).
• New roundabout at the intersection of NE Purcell Blvd. and NE Butler Market Road (May 3 – September). There will be a full closure of the intersection during this time.
• Modernization of NE Purcell Blvd between NE Butler Market Road and the NUID canal (May 3 – September).  This section of the roadway will be open to local traffic only.
• Construction is dependent on weather conditions and other factors.
