Improvements include:

  • Reduced conflict points to calm traffic and improve safety for everyone
  • Wider sidewalks and enhanced shared-use paths
  • New crosswalks for safer pedestrian and bicycle connections between neighborhoods, schools, parks and trails

Crews will return in the springtime for some final landscaping work as well as potential pavement resurfacing of the road.

A huge THANK YOU to our community for your patience and support throughout this project!

On Dec. 2, the Hawthorne Crossing project held an open house and showcased renderings of the new truss bridge design featuring three mountain peaks that will span the Parkway and railroad tracks for bikes and pedestrians. The project team also highlighted potential street improvements for connections between Hill and Harriman streets and from Second to Third streets. The open house comment period is now closed. However, you can still view the open house information on ODOT’s project webpage.
