Murphy Corridor Improvements Project Update – April 05, 2021

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

BNSF Bridge Overcrossing:

• Crews have poured the footing on the first substructure “bent” unit supporting the BNSF bridge overcrossing. 

Modernization between Country Club Drive and Parrell Road:

• Crews have completed the foundation (base layer) for Murphy Road roadway west of Benham Road to Tapadera Street.

WEEK OF APRIL 5 CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES

• Crews will continue building retaining walls as part of the modernization work along the north side of Murphy Road.
• Demolition work will continue on the north side of Murphy Road.
• Crews will continue placing base rock to provide stabilization under the new road.
• Drywell testing will take place.

TRAFFIC REMINDER

The south and east leg of the Murphy Road/Country Club Drive roundabout are open. Murphy Road is one way from Country Club to Parrell Road.

Westbound Detour: Take Murphy Road to Country Club Drive. Turn right on Knott Road. Turn right on China Hat Road. Turn right on Parrell Road.

Eastbound Detour: Take Murphy Road to Parrell Road. Continue on Parrell Road, turn right on Brosterhous Road, and follow to stop sign. Turn right on Brosterhous Road and follow through Brosterhous Roundabout to Murphy Road.
